Strengths
- A genuine marquee all-rounder. Mahmudullah Riyad offers middle-order runs and off-spin — exactly the dual role that suits a format capping every bowler at two overs.
- An untapped audience. Bangladesh brings one of cricket’s largest and most engaged followings into the competition for the first time.
- No form to defend. As a debutant the side carries no net run rate deficit and no knockout scar tissue.
Weaknesses
- Squad still largely unannounced. Only two players are publicly confirmed, leaving the balance of the XI unknown this close to the tournament.
- No WCL experience. Every rival has two seasons of conditions, format and opposition knowledge; Bangladesh have none.
