South Africa lifted their first WCL title at Edgbaston on 2 August 2025, chasing down 196 in just 16.5 overs to beat Pakistan Champions by nine wickets. AB de Villiers made 120* from 60 balls in the final and was named Player of the Tournament after a season of 431 runs at an average of 143.67.
India Champions won the inaugural 2024 edition, so both previous winners return in October chasing a second star.

AB de Villiers returned from four years away and finished nearly 250 runs clear of the field, taking Player of the Tournament in South Africa’s title-winning campaign.
